This is a compensated review by BlogHer and Pop-Tarts®
I freely admit, the first thing I am grateful for at Thanksgiving is the pumpkin pie I know I will be having for dessert. And for breakfast the next day. In fact, I might have to say that pumpkin pie for breakfast at 3:30 in the morning or whatever ungodly hour I decide to go shopping on Black Friday is my favorite moment of the entire year. Anyway, it's pretty clear that I love pumpkin pie.
You can imagine my excitement when I found out that Pop-Tarts has a limited edition Thanksgiving flavor this year: Pumpkin Pie. My kids and I were given the assignment to use the Pop-Tarts to make something yummy, and not surprisingly, we chose to make an actual pumpkin pie using the Pop-Tarts as the crust.
First, we ripped up 6 Pumpkin Pie Pop-Tarts and put them in a bowl.
We then melted a stick of butter and mixed it all together.
Second, we smooshed the crust down into the dish.
Then we made our favorite pumpkin pie recipe, poured it over our fancy crust and baked as normal.
Finally, we ate it, which is the best part!

My favorite thing is the pie and this year I am looking forward to figuring out a couple of healthier alternative recipes for my favorites! Man. winning this would REALLY help us out right now!
I love it all! Just getting together with extended family makes everything taste better. The most unusual thing I look forward to are the homemade sweet pickles that my husband's grandma always brings.
My mom's stuffing. I only get it once a year and I can't live without it!

I have to put this Stuffed celery stick. A mouth full of goodness.
It's seriously all about the turkey with me. Turkey, turkey, turkey. I never make it any other time of year because the anticipation of Thanksgiving makes it so much more delicious.

This Thanksgiving I'm looking forward to being in Disneyland and eating a buffet lunch on Thanksgiving day at the Disneyland Resort Hotel. SO EXCITED! 1- for all the food I don't have to make and 2- for all the plates I get to use and not clean!!!
Turkey and giblet gravy!! Delicious!

K, was it really good?
MY personal favorite is rolls and sweet potatoes. :)
My turkey -- I got the idea from a Martha Stewart cookbook the first year we were married and have been perfecting it over the years. In a nutshell, loosen the skin and add a pretty pattern of fresh herbs, then douse it all with melted butter. YUM!
Stuffing - yum!
Homemade creamed corn. That pie you made looks wonderful!
I love eating turkey that I don't prepare myself. If I have to do the bird prep, I can't eat a bite. And I love it all....the perfect mashed potatoes with dried corn, cranberries, stuffing, rolls, and of course pie, pie, pie. Mmmmm.
My favorite has to be making and eating the Ruth's Chris sweet potato casserole recipe. I swear it's like eating dessert for a side dish. MMMM-MMMM!
I love my mom's sweet potato bake. Maybe I can convince her to sprinkle poptarts on top this year...

Mmmm, pumpkin pie pop tarts and pop tart pumpkin pie! :) I love all Thanksgiving food, but dessert is my favorite part of every dinner, and Thanksgiving is no exception, I think. Mmmmm, pie. Pumpkin, pecan, chocolate.
I would be satisfied if Thanksgiving were a buffet of mashed potatoes and pie. The best thing about that meal is its abundance of comfort foods.
I really do love the pie (who doesn't?) but my very most fave has to be the turkey and homemade cranberry relish and the sandwiches with leftover dinner rolls which will follow that night and the next day! themoonmom@hotmail.com

That's actually a hard question! I think probably the pickled eggs...I know that's weird..but it's family tradition...and pecan pie!
I am looking forward to the mashed potatoes and gravy!
I'll be making a chocolate pudding pie for Thanksgiving. If last year was any indication of child opinion, perhaps I should make two? It occurs to me that this poptart crust might be really good for the pudding pie, though I might use the chocolate flavored ones instead. Oh! Or the strawberry ones... Some interesting possibilities there!

Is there really one favorite on Thanksgiving? I can tell you what my least favorite is.....the turkey! I like turkey just as much as the next person but when there is stuffing (my Mom's recipe), sweet potatoes, cranberries, apple and pumpkin pie - there is not much room on my plate for turkey.
Pecan pie is my favorite!
