All my very favorite traditions have everything to do with food...sad really.

My mother started the tradition that we have chex mix for breakfast while watching the Macy's Day Parade. Mom decided that since chex mix is made with cereal, it qualifies as breakfast.

We still follow this tradition and the girls love it.

LOVE Chloe the Pilgrim girl, good job! :) I would have to say our biggest tradition is PIE and I mean LOTS of it... we make several different kinds and almost everyone has a taste of each: pumpkin, apple, pecan, German chocolate cream, mixed berry, coconut cream, and my favorite, apple-cranberry!
Every year, family members bring new ones to try and old favorites by request... we have so much fun.

My very favorite tradition? Just the whole thing, food, family, fun- it's the perfect holiday. Our family has an unusual tradition started by my great grandmother to get the kids out of the way- she would make goodie bags and hide them. One for all the kids, and they were well hidden outside. That's it- all kids outside to find your bags! The big boys bags are usually hidden in impossible to reach places- like the roof. It's great fun and I look forward to it whenever we get to have Thanksgiving with my extended family.

Turning on the Christmas carols for the first time all season (it's simply not allowed before then) lighting candles, turning down the lights and sipping hot chocolate whilst watching A Child's Christmas In Wales, the movie version of Dylan Thomas' famous poem.

What a fun giveaway :) My favorite tradition is simply being together as a family! Especially as we all get older and more spread out. But I also love to watch football after eating so much I can't move! ~ Brittany Preston

Seriously ... Pumpkin Pie Pop Tarts??? I might actually have to try one! ha ha

My fave tradition for Thanksgiving doesn't really exist because every year we are somewhere different with different people. And maybe that's what I love about, well that, and the food. However, I look forward to the day when I am grandma and I get to make the food and the traditions.

Although, we might be starting one this year ... my kids and their cousins have been practicing together to form a little singing group and their first performance will be at Thanksgiving dinner. I can't wait!

    Chloe is just adorable!

My favorite Thanksgiving tradition is the three kernels of corn we put above each placesetting. After dinner we all say three things we're most grateful for...and it turns into a big, weepy testimony meeting, which I love. How often do you get that personal and spiritual with your extended family? It wouldn't be Thanksgiving without that kind of sharing.

Wow thats a tough question for me, after 30 yrs together I'd have thought we would have developed some kind of tradition but when I try to think of one cant really come up with anything other than cooking specific foods at holiday time, and I always do all the cooking and clean up while everyone else just relaxes and watches tv, I make all their favorite foods on holidays and that includes homemade Cheesecake its everyone's favorite desert but other than the food there isnt much of a tradition going on, We do spend the day together and thats important I think, this year we are having a friend over for dinner who became widowed earlier this year which is much to early in her life so she will be here and we are going to have a great time, eating, laughing, and eating some more, Thanks for the great giveaway

Our favorite Thanksgiving tradition is the Family Circus. All seven of the grandchildren participate and Grandma writes the script. We have circus wagons (boxes on wagons painted red and yellow) with animals (stuffed from Grandma's many trips to Good Will). We have strong ladies, animal tamers, clowns - you name we have it. One of my grandmothers died before I was born and the other lived far away, so I don't have many memories of them. I am thankful that our girls will have beautiful memories of Grandma.

We enjoy making mini turkeys out of butter cookies, a chocolate creme and candy corn. You assemble it all with chocolate frosting, letting one cookie be the base, one (with a trimmed "flat" side) the upright tail, the chocolate is the body, and the candy corn on top as the head. We have done it for years, and enjoy delivering them to friends, teachers, and using them at each place at the table.
